Our Exchange Program

MedSCO-Oman participates in both the Professional Exchange and Research Exchange programs of IFMSA. Through the IFMSA network, the MedSCO-Oman Exchange program facilitates exchanges between Omani medical students and IFMSA members around the world. All exchanges last for four weeks and are handled on a bilateral basis. Students are offered a placement in the department or research project of their choice, as well as lodging and often a social program. They are assigned a tutor for their entire exchange who ensures that the students are actively participating and improving their skills. Several measures are taken to ensure the high academic quality of the program, such as providing a student handbook and an official SCOPE or SCORE certificate, which is awarded upon maintaining at least 80% attendance during the clerkship.
