Event Name: Ensaf – Human Rights and Research Ethics


Event Objectives:

  • Building Research Foundations: Introduce core research concepts, methodologies, and tools, equipping participants with the skills to design and implement impactful research projects.

  • Linking Research to Human Rights: Highlight the role of research in identifying and addressing human rights issues, advocating for justice and equality through evidence-based findings.

  • Promoting Ethical, Action-Oriented Research: Emphasize ethical practices, informed consent, and transparency, while encouraging the use of research to serve communities and create positive social change.

  • Encouraging Research Collaboration: Promote partnerships between individuals, institutions, and communities to share knowledge, resources, and diverse perspectives for more comprehensive and impactful outcomes.

  • Enhancing the Use of Technology in Research: Explore the role of modern digital tools and platforms in improving research efficiency, data collection, and dissemination, particularly in areas related to human rights and peace.


Methodology:

The event “Ensaf” was held at Oman Hall on February 26, 2025, with approximately 50 participants. It served as an inspiring educational initiative aimed at empowering students with the knowledge and tools necessary to conduct meaningful research grounded in high ethical standards.

Dr. Nasser Al-Nazwani led the session, introducing participants to the foundations of scientific research, including methodologies, tools, and project design strategies.

The session emphasized the strong connection between research and human rights, demonstrating how evidence-based findings can expose social injustice and advocate for equality.

Participants explored the role of technology in research and learned how to utilize digital tools and platforms to enhance research efficiency, data collection, and dissemination.

Students also engaged in interactive competitions that integrated research and analytical skills, deepening their understanding of ethical research practices.

Event Objectives:

  • Enhancing Laboratory Safety Awareness: Emphasizing the critical importance of equipment safety within the research environment.

  • Educating on Proper Equipment Handling: Demonstrating the correct use of various laboratory tools and safety protocols.

  • Interactive Learning: Engaging participants through competitions and discussions to reinforce key concepts.

  • Promoting a Culture of Safe Research: Encouraging students and researchers to adopt safe laboratory practices throughout their academic journey.


Methodology:

The event “Master the Lab” was held in the Biology Laboratory with approximately 50 participants from different academic levels. The initiative aimed to reinforce laboratory safety concepts in an engaging and interactive manner.

The session was led by Mr. Ali Al-Badwawi and combined informative presentations, live demonstrations of equipment usage, hands-on training on safety protocols, and interactive competitions to test knowledge and enhance understanding.
